Every Sunday we try to have dinner with our best friends. For a while A and I had a tradition of cooking a Pinterest meal every Sunday. This was such a great way to start trying out our millions of recipes we had pinned! Life has gotten a little busier though now that we both have 2 kids (well, almost. she is due next month!) So, my point is, last Sunday it was our turn to make a dessert. I really wasn’t in the mood to bake, so my DH said he would do it. If this makes him the perfect husband, I get the perfect wife award since I went to Home Depot the same day. Talk about role reversal! I also asked him to write a post too, but I think I took it a step too far. I let him look at my sweet stuff board and pick whatever he wanted. We are huge fans of s’mores so he chose this s’more bake recipe from Say Yes to Hoboken. You should check out her blog. She has everything from food to fashion. I love her Fab Finds posts. She is too cute! I wish I had seen her Valentine’s post before now. LOVE!
Ingredients: 8×8 inch pan, 3 Hershey Bars, Graham Crackers, Mini Marshmallows, Ready-Made Cookie Dough, Parchment Paper
Directions:
- Layer your 8×8 inch pan with graham crackers.
- Tear off a piece of parchment paper or wax paper about the size of your pan. Smoosh the cookie squares out thin so that it will fit into the pan.
- Next, flip your cookie dough on top of your graham crackers and adjust your cookies so that it covers the whole layer of crackers.
- Bake in the oven according to your cookie directions. Do not cook all the way through as they will go back into the oven.
- Once they come out of the oven, add the hershey bar pieces.
- Then add the mini marshmallows
- Bake for another 15 minutes or until the marshmallows are golden and have started to puff up.
- Once they’re done, admire your work, pour yourself a glass of milk and enjoy!
I know Liz calls this a s’more bake and really, that’s what it is, but I like to be difficult. When these were fresh out of the oven they tasted like an ooey gooey brownie. After it had been sitting out and was just slightly warm, almost room temp, I was less impressed. But THEN, the next day when the marsh, chocolate, and cookies melded together even more, it was like a totally different dessert. I didn’t think I would like it the next day because I figured the marshmallows would’ve been funky. It tasted like a decadent cookie and I liked it even more than the first day though! Who wouldathunk. You definitely need a glass of milk to wash this dessert down!
Did I enjoy this recipe? My husband is the one who made this and said it was very simple. He also felt that the original instructions were perfect. The only thing he would change next time is use more hershey bar. That’s because we’re fat though. 🙂
Did anything unexpected happen? Nope.
Overall Rating from 1-5: 4.5 straight out of the oven, 4 when cooler and back to 4.5 the next day once all the ingredients got to know each other a little more.

I saw this post and tried it out. I have to say, they were very good! So good I made another batch a few days later (don’t judge that the first batch was gone that fast!). I love this dessert even more when it is a day old and cold from the fridge. Thanks for the post. 🙂
