Hey Everyone!! We have reached the end of our bootcamp journey. I will not leave you though because I promise to continue giving you tips and tricks on how to use your silhouette. I will teach you how to make banners, party decorations, vinyl stickers, cupcake topper and so much more. Last week we learned all about the Image Effect Panel in Silhouette Studio. This week we are going to go over Software Editions offered by Silhouette. Silhouette Boot Camp is filled with mini lessons that help us learn the terminology used in the Silhouette Studio software so that we can cut any design we can dream up with ease!
Before we get started, there are a couple of things to help you get the most of the experience:
- If you are new here, take a look the Silhouette Boot Camp Welcome with all courses listed and catch up on any you missed.
- Sign up for my Silhouette Newsletter which will email you when the lessons are released each week. {click HERE to sign up!}
- Pin this post! Each of these lessons takes me on average, 8-12 hours to create for you. I can do these lessons for FREE thanks to your support in coming to my site, reading the tutorials and sharing it with your friends. By pinning this post or sharing it on Facebook with your Silhouette friends, it helps you know where to find it if you need to reference it again, and it helps me spread the word so that I can keep the resources and freebies FREE to you!
What are the differences between all the Editions in Silhouette Studio?
Silhouette offers 3 different editions in the Silhouette Studio Software. There is standard, designer, and business edition. Each edition has there own unique features. The best things for you to do is decide which edition fits your needs and wants.
Silhouette Studio Standard Edition:
When you receive your Silhouette it comes with all the basic software you need for simple projects. All of the features I have shown you on this bootcamp journey can be done with the Standard Edition. If you are a new user and planning to do basic projects, this is the edition for you.
Silhouette Studio Designer Edition:
The Designer Edition in Silhouette Studio includes everything the basic edition has and more. A few of the features in Designer Edition are
- A precision eraser to modify designs
- Knife tools
- Eyedropper tool to match your color exactly
- The ability to add new patterns to your library
- The ability to customize your folders
- Rulers and guidelines
- Nesting
- Trace by color and sketch effects
- The shear feature
Silhouette Studio Business Edition:
The Business Edition in Silhouette Studio is for those wanting to create complex designs. A few of the features in Business Edition are
- The ability to cut with multiple Silhouettes machines
- Digital font creation
- Handwritten font creation.. making your own fonts out of handwriting
- Automatic weed lines
- Multiple shapes in the design page
Whatever you desire to do with your Silhouette you can choose the correct edition to fit your needs. The editions are not free but the fee is a one time only charge. I have used all 3 editions and like them for different things. The edition I use the most for my design needs is Designer Edition. Silhouette is one of my favorite things to use. The software is very easy to learn, and I love making my own designs and projects.
