These Valentine’s Day Heart Pops are so easy to make and so much fun to decorate with the kids!
Alright guys this is a quick and easy last minute Valentine’s Day treat that is not only super tasty but a fun activity to do with the kids. We don’t go crazy for Valentine’s Day around my house but I do like to do something special for the kids. In the past I’ve made Cupid’s Arrow Valentine’s Day favors, and cooked up some Red Velvet Sweet Rolls (I might have to make those again, sooooo good!), this year I’m making these simple Valentine’s Day Heart Pops.
It doesn’t get much easier than this. There is no fancy recipe, I just use the standard Rice Krispies Treat recipe that we all grew up with, and at least in my house, we all LOVE. Who can resist a Rice Krispies Treat?! Once you’ve got them made and in a pan, let them cool for a little while until they are firm, then use a small heart-shaped cookie cutter and go to work. My kids love helping with this part because they get to eat all of the scrap pieces as they go. It’s the little things in life people :).
Once we have them all cut out I push a lollipop stick into each one, because food on a stick is more fun, it’s a fact. Then it’s time for the fun part, decorating! I make up bowls of melted candy melts in Valentine’s Day colors, red, pinks, white, and I raid my sprinkles stash for anything we can use. Nothing makes my kids more happy than making a mess decorating with sprinkles!
We dip, we drizzle, we sprinkle, and when it is all done we have these pretty little treats that everyone wants to bite into right away, that’s why you have to make a big batch :). Once everyone has had their fill some will be put aside for dessert, and daddy, and the rest I’ll wrap the treat in plastic, tie it with a bow, and have instant Valentine’s Day favors for the kids’ friends.
And for those of you wondering, don’t worry I haven’t forgotten about my husband. We’ll be enjoying a couple of hours of kid-free time and I’ll be making us dinner for two!
Happy Valentine’s Day!

These look perfect for my daughter’s upcoming birthday party! Love the colours and I plan to create these in different shapes to also teach the kids more about shapes (hehe, kill two birds with one stone!)
Thanks for sharing this!
