A quick and easy breakfast to celebrate the fall season! These adorable little pumpkins are made from Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls- couldn’t be easier!
If you haven’t noticed, we have a thing for Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls! They are quick, easy and convenient- not to mention a totally delicious breakfast! My kids ask for them pretty much daily but we usually only indulge on the weekends. One of the things that they love so much is that I usually make them into some sort of extra special treat for them by shaping them into something that is seasonally appropriate.
Since we were headed to the Pumpkin Patch last Saturday, what better (and easier!) than making some cinnamon roll pumpkins for breakfast! These are great because they are a non-spooky Halloween treat, or just an all around great fall breakfast all the way up to Thanksgiving! There is very little prep involved for these fun little guys.
What you will need for these is just a can (or two!) of Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls, and a few drops of orange and green food coloring. Make sure you get the Grands cinnamon rolls because you will need the ones that unroll to make life easier.
Pop open your can of rolls and unroll the end of the roll about an inch and a half or so. Bend it over on top of itself and gently pinch it together right at the top of the round forming a stem for the pumpkin.
Bake the rolls as directed on the package. While they are baking remove about a tablespoon or so of frosting from the included container. Add the green food coloring to this frosting. Dye the remaining frosting orange.
Once the rolls are done, let them cool a bit and then use the green frosting to ice the stem of the pumpkin and give a generous dollop of orange on the rest of the roll.
I kinda think these are the perfect autumn breakfast. Warm, gooey, comforting and perfectly festive. If you make your own I would love to see your family enjoying them! Make sure and snap a pic and tag us on Facebook or Instagram {@thepinningmama}.
