These peanut butter crusted brownie bars are over the top delicious. Transform a boxed brownie mix into a gourmet treat in only 10 minutes.
One of the best parts of being a blogger is that it is a great excuse to whip up a pan of brownies when a chocolate craving strikes. One of the cons of being a blogger is that when they are the best thing you have ever eaten, you just might eat the whole pan yourself over the rest of the day.
These were that good. When you take peanut butter, pretzels, and rich dark chocolate you really can’t go wrong. The sweet and salty mix make these especially irresistible.
The absolute best part of this recipe though is that it takes about 10 minutes to make. You start with a basic boxed brownie mix and 10 minutes later you are popping a gourmet treat in the oven.
Peanut Butter Chocolate Pretzel Crusted Brownies
To start grab your brownie mix. I used Ghirardelli Dark Chocolate Brownie mix, but any mix sized to make an 8×8 pan of brownies will work. I especially like Ghirardelli because I really think it is the best tasting mix out there.
Prepare the mix per the instructions on the box. Grease an 8×8 pan and pour the batter in.
Next drop 1/4-1/2 cup of peanut butter in dollops evenly across the top of the brownies. I probably had about 15 drops of peanut butter in my pan.
Place the brownies into a preheated oven for 5 minutes. Remove from the oven and use a knife to swirl the softened peanut butter throughout the brownies. Then take 3/4 cup of pretzel crumbs {easiest way to make crumbs here} sprinkle them over the top of the brownies evenly. Then sprinkle 1/2 cup of chocolate chips over everything. Press the toppings lightly into the brownie batter with your hands and return to the oven.
Cook for 30-40 more minutes or until just set. Make sure not to over cook these to keep them super dense and fudgy!

Well those look divine, Kimber. I actually have a half-consumed bag of pretzels that no one seems to be going for.. maybe this is the solution? Smash them up against dark chocolate brownies and I bet they will disappear:)
