Hi Pinning Mama readers! I’m so excited to share my first post as a contributor for Kimber. I don’t know about you but between my 3 kids, I end up needing at least 5 teacher/bus driver gifts and that can add up fast. I snagged these adorable gold stripe kraft paper notebooks and gift tag packs for just $1 each in the Target dollar bins recently and thought they’d make adorable and simple teacher’s gifts with a little jazzing up.
Here’s what you’ll need to make your own:
- Silhouette CAMEO or Portrait
- Black Vinyl
- Transfer Tape
- Baker’s Twine
- “Notes” phrase from this design
- Sharpie’s (or other pens/markers)
I started by opening my Silhouette Studio software and sizing the Notes phrase to fit the notepads. I cut several at one time.
After weeding the vinyl with the hook tool, I used transfer paper and a scraper to apply the vinyl to the notepads. With the transfer paper being using on the paper notepads, you don’t want it to be very sticky. I stick mine on my clothes a few times to wear off some of the stickiness before I use it to transfer the vinyl to the note pads.
Then I simply used baker’s twine to tie on two Sharpie markers to each notepad and added a gift tag.
Simple and semi-handmade!

I think your stencil is really adorable, and makes for a beautiful gift. And pretty much everyone I know loves to get sharpies… not only teachers. I think its great to put your heart into a gift. It isn’t about going broke, but about showing appreciation:)
