This fun Sofia the First party is full of fun and simple crafts, activities and treats your little princess and her friends will love!
If there is one thing in life, my 3 year old daughter loves, it is Sofia the First! She likes to watch Sofia, play Sofia, dress up like Sofia, and play pretend Sofia. And it is something I love too! In Sofia the First episodes on Disney Junior, Sofia is not only beautiful on the outside, but she shows the type of things I hope my daughter becomes. Things like loyalty, bravery, hard work, creativity, honesty, adventure and a value for family and true friendship.
We had a fun Sofia the First party and tried to incorporate fun treats, simple and cute craft perfect for preschoolers and activities that made us all laugh and have fun together.
Of course the highlight of any party is the snacks! The purple topped cupcakes were simple and such a hit! They made an adorable center piece that complimented the decor, and we added in healthy options like a fruit tray and milk to drink. You can even add a couple of drops of pink or purple food coloring to the milk to make it super special milk! We used the Sofia the First Deluxe Friends Collection Character Figure set as as decor on the main table and then each guest could also take one home as a party favor! These figurine play sets are one of my daughter’s favorite things to play with so we were both super excited to share with our friends and this set is perfect since it comes with 17 pieces! All of the Sofia toys we used are available at major retailers including Target, Walmart, Amazon, and ToysRUs.
We started out the party activities by making Sofia the First Pops! I shared the full tutorial and supply list here. I made a few ahead of time to do double duty as decor, but these are really fun and easy for even the littlest kiddos to make.
I had all sorts of colors the kids could use to make sure that they were able to be as creative as they wanted or match their favorite Sofia the First character. Between the paper straws, the “skirts,” and the sparkly topping there are so many fun combinations they can put together to really let their creativity shine! Plus the kids LOVED being able to make this simple treat as a craft activity then eat it later!
Then we had craft time where we made our own DIY crowns! I included a free template you can print and cut for your own Sofia the First party. There is a PDF and Silhouette CAMEO cut file at the bottom of this post!
I used heavy pearlized card stock and precut the pieces for the crowns before the party. Then at the party we talked about what makes you beautiful on the inside and we wrote those things on the inside of their crown. I loved seeing the kids think about the things that really makes Sofia special and the kinds of things that they want to be everyday to show their beautiful heart through their actions.
Even at 3 years old, my daughter was able to come up with some pretty impressive character traits all by herself! The inside of her crown read: loves family, adventures, loving, kind, shares, and brave. This was such a fun activity to do with my daughter because I didn’t realize how she recognized these things through what she saw everyday and it warmed my heart that she could come up with these ideas all on her own!
Then they got to make the outside as beautiful as the inside with lots of glitter, jewels, markers and all the sparkles a girl could dream of. Once they decorated to their heart’s content, we used clear tape to secure the band and then they were able to wear their custom made princess crown for the rest of the party!
Of course the next part was a little Sofia the First crown modeling session where they got to walk the catwalk and pose for their photo. Boy do I have a little ham and I couldn’t love her any more!
We had a blast at the party and playing with all of our favorite Sofia toys with all of our friends! My favorite kind of toys are those that encourage my kids to engage in pretend play and really exercise their imagination.
My favorites from the new collection are the Sofia the First figures, the Magical Light-Up Amulet, and the Sofia Royal Dress. These are available from all major retailers including Target, Toys R Us, Amazon, and Walmart. What is your child’s favorite Sofia the First toy?
